How does Robert Pattinson talk with an American accent?

If he's English (from England), then how come he's talking with an American accent? Is his character suppose to talk like that?

And if so, then he is super talented and HANDSOME!!

The producers probably made his voice sound like that with computers.You would be surprised what machines can do these days!Any way when I watched the movie I didnt pay attention to how he spoke I payed attention to how hot he looked!!!!!!!
He had to do a lot of practise, when he went to do som other shows he went to workshops and stuff
yeah i think he is suppose to talk with an American accent. He can do it probably through practice and talent.
