Why do people get bashed for their opinions on the internet?

I see it more and more lately in chat rooms. Mostly with teen stars such as Robert Pattinson, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, etc. If someone mentions that they like their music or acting all of the sudden they get five or ten people calling them stupid and ignorant.

I'm assuming it's mostly teens doing this, what gratification do they get out of it?

Or is it just their immaturity and not knowing how to handle others opinions and they need to learn to respect people?

I'm 27 and I think they have no respect whatsoever, not even for themselves half the time. They also do it b/c it makes them feel powerful for bashing others b/c teenagers have little control over their own lives. They are also immature. There are actually scientific studies that show that teenagers are bad decision makers and irresponsible b/c their brains are not fully developed; and this doesn't go away as soon as you hit 20, either. Parents also don't know how to teach their children basic manners, so that doesn't help either. I agree with you though. The constant cursing and bad mouthing is pathetic on their part, but hey, just blame it on their under developed brains and bad manners.
I think people feel they can say whatever they want on the internet, especially stuff that they couldn't say around others in real life.



Or maybe they are trying to be funny, or being immature.





It's all a waste of time, really.
cuz sum ppl jus cant always accept the fact that others wont share the same opinion as them and they r too stubborrn to understand. sum ppl ive seen jus act like they dislike sumthin cuz they know their going to get bashed for it. or maybe they thnk they cn say anythin cuz they're on the internet
