Do men/teenage boys sort of resent female writers targeting girls or young women who now have these fantastical notions and standards of what and how guys are supposed to act?
Especially in the new movie Twilight? Do you guys resent the fact that you now have to compete with this idea of every girls fantasy Edward? And with Robert Pattinson playing the lead, how do you feel about having to go against someone who is clearly setting the bar really high for every girls dreams?Do you guys feel threatened?
Ha ha! I wouldn't worry about it. Women will always be creative and imaginative. They will always be hopeful. They will always dream. Is that so bad? You want to know what most people find almost universally attractive? Confidence. Don't express worry, concern or jealousy, when women get all dreamy eyed over some celebrity or some local guy. It shows a lack of confidence in yourself. Of course you can't compete with a fantasy. I'm sure women feel the same way. They are constantly bombarded with images of women with perfect bodies and faces in the media. If you go to a club, bar or party, you will often see a decent looking, heavier woman, laughing, having fun and commanding the men's attention. Don't write this off, saying, she is just flaunting her sexuality or acting loose. The truth is, she's sexy and popular, because she's confident and comfortable with herself. She isn't sitting there waiting for men to talk to her. She starts conversations with guys she likes. Ever see a fat guy with a really hot chick? He's probably outgoing, funny, confident and nice to her. He's not competing with every hot guy out there. He's just being confident enough to be himself
